the outsiders essay

Dallas is a very dynamic character in The Outsiders. He has a big hate for the world. He was in a gang called the greasers with 6 of his friends. If you weren’t part of the gang he didn't really care about you. He is very tough and was also arrested at the age of 10. He spent 3 years at the wild side of New York. The local police have a very large file on only him. He was killed by the police after he finally snapped and robed a store. He snapped because Johnny died and dally was very protective of him. In all that happened I think that dally just didn’t know how to do anything but fight.

First, Dallas was very protective of Johnny. He goes in a burning church to save him; something he wouldn’t even do to save dying children. He's always looking for reasons to help Johnny. After Johnny kills bob, Dallay did everything he could to protect him and hide him from the Socs cops.

When Johnny dies, Dallas snapped because he had nothing else to live for. Johnny was like a brother to him. He was more than a brother to him. He was his life. The last person in his life who truly cared about him like a brother was dead.

You never know what a guy like Dallas Winston will do. Can you fix him?
